Gian Piero Gasperini admitted to being "very happy" after being appointed as Inter's new coach.
The ex-Genoa boss only gave the brief comment to Sports Italia as he is not to be unveiled to the public until a press conference on Tuesday.
Due to legal complications, a contract has yet to be finalised between the Milan club and Gasperini but he has been officially confirmed by the club through their official website.
It is expected that the deal will be finalised as soon as president Massimo Moratti comes back to Italy in time for Tuesday as he is out of the country at the moment.
Gasperini has previously only managed clubs such as Genoa and Serie B outfit Crotone as well as the Juventus youth team. However the former midfielder captured the imagination of Italy during his stint at Genoa where his free flowing attacking football drew praise from all quarters.
